A facelift is a cosmetic surgery that aims to lift and firm sagging facial tissues to add a more radiant and youthful appearance to the face. You will look younger after excess skin is surgically removed, facial tissues are tightened, and deep folds smoothed out. Healthy individuals without conditions that will slow down healing who would like to reduce the signs of aging in the face and neck are great candidates for this procedure. Patients must follow instructions on how to care for the surgical site after surgery. The entire head will be bandaged, but the bandages are generally removed one day after surgery. Swelling and numbness will persist for several months, but it will improve. A facelift can be combined with other procedures such as blepharoplasty and a brow lift. The average price is $7,400.
Otoplasty is a cosmetic and reconstructive procedure that reshapes the outer ear through surgery and helps correct deformities to give the ears a better look in proportion to the shape of the face and head. There are three main types of procedures, otopexy to pin back or to flatten the ear, ear augmentation for the outer part of the ear that has not developed, or ear reduction to make the pinna smaller. During recovery, you should keep your head elevated, take medications to alleviate the discomfort, and avoid vigorous activity. If you have prominent ears that bend forward or down, you may be a good candidate for this procedure. Ear surgery can cost $1700 - $7000.
Rhinoplasty, or a nose job, is a surgery that changes the shape of the nose and improves its function. It can be done for cosmetic or medical reasons to correct birth defects or to improve the nose’s appearance. While the best candidates for rhinoplasty are patients with nasal deformity, anyone concerned with how their nose looks may qualify. During recovery, a splint and bandages are placed in the nose to support and protect the new structure. Swelling following surgery subsides in several weeks, and the final results may take up to a year to fully refine. A nose job can cost between $5,000 and $7,000.
Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, aims at improving the appearance of the eyelids, which can be performed on the upper and lower lids or both under local anesthesia. Eyelid surgery takes 1 to 3 hours, and helps remove excess muscle, skin and sometimes fat from the area around the eyes. The best candidates are individuals unhappy with the appearance of their eyelids, whose eyes are healthy, have begun to sag or interfering with vision. Fine sutures are used; therefore, scars are barely noticeable. During recovery swelling and bruising can last a week or longer, pain is minimal, and the stitches are removed in 3-4 days. This procedure can cost up to $3,000.
Earlobe repair is a 15-30 minute surgical procedure usually done to repair earlobes torn, damaged or stretched from wearing heavy earrings. This procedure can be performed right after an injury or delayed until the ear is completely healed. The surgical techniques are used either to close the wound, reshape the ear, or to redistribute tissue, and they are based on the amount of lost tissue and nature of the injury. Fine sutures are used to help minimize scarring and removed seven days following surgery. Patients are advised to keep their phone away from the treated area and avoid wearing tight-fitting neck clothing during recovery. The cost of this procedure is $400-$900.
Injectable fillers or dermal fillers are widely used mainly for wrinkle treatment, lip augmentation, and scar removal, leaving the patient looking more rested and rejuvenated. They can be injected in less than an hour with little to no downtime required. Side effects such as bruising, swelling, or redness are all temporary. The results can last up to 6 months and in some cases as long as a year. At Blue Lagoon, we use Restylane and Juvederm for men and women between the ages of 35 and 65. However, some patients over 18 and 65 may also qualify. Patients pregnant, breastfeeding, with adverse skin illness, and negative allergic reactions, should not get Restylane and Juvederm injections. You can resume your normal routine right after treatment but should avoid exposure to sunlight for three days or longer, should not drink any alcohol, and gently massage the area injected as instructed by your surgeon. Cold compresses help with swelling and ensures quick healing. The cost of one syringe of Restylane and Juvederm is $500. The total cost is based on how much the patient needs to get the desired effect.
Non-surgical facial rejuvenation combines several procedures such as Botox, facial laser hair removal, lip augmentation, platelet-rich plasma, micro laser peel, permanent makeup, and others, to restore your skin’s natural glow. These procedures address the early signs of aging with the use of proven technology to rejuvenate the face and neck. Good candidates for this procedure are healthy patients, showing signs of aging that can’t be treated with surgery alone, with realistic expectations, who want to look younger, refreshed, and seek natural results. After facial rejuvenation, you will receive special instructions about your postsurgical care. Based on the procedures performed, after skin resurfacing, the face is covered with protective ointment, and bandages as needed. When a facelift, fat grafting, and laser surgery are combined, the face will be swollen and bruised at first. While recovery varies from patient to patient, your surgeon will talk about the symptoms you may experience during your initial consultation. Facial rejuvenation is considered elective; therefore your insurance may not cover these costs. The total cost is based on the procedures selected.
Botox is a treatment FDA approved to temporarily reduce the look of facial lines, creases, and wrinkles in young and older patients. This medication is injected into the underlying muscles making the signs of aging less noticeable. The results are seen in just 24 to 48 hours. You may consider Botox if you are in good health, and have moderate to severe wrinkles located in treatable areas. After Botox treatment, you should follow a few aftercare tips such as avoid touching and rubbing the treated area, take pain-killers if you feel any pain or discomfort, and do gentle face exercises. The cost ranges from $75 - $1,300 with an average of $550.
